Artist Statement: "I've been working with glass for about the last 12 years. Starting with the cement and glass garden stones. Once you're bitten with the glass bug, all other hobbies and crafts are set aside and you become a glassie.
Over the years I have done the copper foil and especially enjoy the traditional lead work.
"In 2004 I got my first church commission here in Abbotsford at Saint Ann's Parish. I convinced a fellow glassie and dear friend Melanie Rowe to come on board, and together we made the River of Light: 12 windows, 8 feet high with a flowing design throughout.
I have always been in awe of the old church windows, with lead and hand painting, so in 2005 I attended the Pilchuck Glass School, in the U.S., to learn the painting techniques.
Being able to incorporate the traditional painting with glass fusing has made this art form one that continually makes my heart pump and a never ending source of ideas and possibilities ahead."
