Campfire In Hard Times

In the depression years of the 1930's many unemployed men travelled about the country in search of whatever work they could find.  Freight trains provided a means of transportation.

Though dangerous and uncomfortable and actively discouraged by railway police, there was no fare to pay.  On a pleasant moonlit evening, three travellers settle around a campfire as a train rumbles across a coulee on a wooden trestle.  A walk into town in the morning may result in a few hours of work or an outbound freight may carry them to another place and another campfire.
